Glen Ellison has a very neat study (ungated version) of adjusted h-index measures of citation functioning that he shows convey swell predictive ability for where people halt upward getting tenure (among other things).
What I idea you lot would notice to a greater extent than interesting is that: i) Harvard comes out kickoff inwards citations to its faculty members. See table v page 84.
ii) Table 6, page 87, has a listing of the elevation v economists yesteryear decade. In the 2 cohorts of people alongside PhDs afterwards 1996, I was struck that v out of 10 convey Harvard PhDs (with three MIT, i Chicago, together with i Berkeley rounding the list).
